Dear Friend,
It’s been a wild week of news, but here at Indivisible Whidbey, we are focused on supporting our neighbors as an act of resistance. To that end, we are proud to co-sponsor Whidbey Rising, a benefit concert supporting food security across our island. The Trump government shutdown will have long-term impacts on food banks and other services that help people feed their families. Together, we will fill the gap left by the cruel regime. There is sure to be a full house! Read all about the concert in the South Whidbey Record. United Student Leaders Walkout Climate change and white supremacy are both pressing issues that threaten each of us, our democracy, and our world every day. You can have a voice by filling out the Washington Indivisible Network Legislative Priorities survey. This will help Indivisible leaders set priorities and push for what matters most when legislators convene in Olympia in January. Mobilize Against ICE As the actions by ICE become more and more outrageous, we must prepare for increased presence and militarization in our state and in our community. Sign up now for ICE Mobilization Alerts. We will stand together and be ready, including training on de-escalation and strategic non-cooperation, distributing whistle kits for community defense, and sharing information so individuals know their rights. Washington is our home. Let’s be ready if the current regime decides to make it a military target. Come Together! Whatever your neighborhood, we have a community social for you!. Join us to meet your neighbors, discuss issues, and build community! Invisible and SOS Whidbey are co-sponsoring a South Whidbey get-together to chat, connect, and strengthen ties.
